New French watch brand hits Aussie shores

French brand, Offshore Limited, has released a cheeky video showcasing its latest range of big and bold watches about to be released in Australia.
Known throughout Europe for its sporty designs, Swiss movements and social media marketing, Offshore Limited promoted its latest range via a seductive and eye-catching video currently earning coverage on Youtube and French television.

Offshore’s latest ranges will now be available in Australia after Sydney-based watch distributor Moda Group, which also distributes Police and Roamer watches, finalised distribution plans for Australia and New Zealand.

Moda’s managing director, Trent McKean, said the company would be continuing the assertive social media marketing across the Australian market with heavy activity across Facebook and Youtube.

“They’re [Offshore] really aggressive online marketers very much into social media and connecting with their target markets,” McKean told Jeweller. “We’ve got the full product range ready and currently we’re working on a Facebook page.”

Offshore’s latest collection features multi-functional timepieces, large watch faces and quality Swiss watch technology. McKean believes the designs and watch quality are important selling points in the Australian market.

“We’re beginning Offshore with the new products launched at the BaselWorld watch fair [in Switzerland],” McKean said. “I just think the design, quality and price-points are going to contribute heavily to the watches’ success and I feel it has a point of difference for Australia’s market.”

According to McKean the company had been negotiating with Offshore for about three months prior to securing the distribution rights last December and said he wouldn’t be looking for “mass distribution,” rather focusing on a smaller amount of stockists nationwide.

“To be honest I’m looking at approximately 100 stores Australia wide,” McKean added. “We’ve got a couple in Campbelltown already with more to come.”

Moda will distribute somewhere between 50-60 new models from Offshore’s latest ranges and the raunchy film clip might make it’s way to cinemas and would be available for retailers to use.
