Beyoncé takes Grammys jewellery spotlight, Kate Bosworth enters jewellery industry, New smart technology platform for designers

Diamonds were shimmering on the red carpet during music’s night of nights but the real star of this year’s Grammys was undoubtedly emeralds. Beyoncé donned Lorraine Schwartz emerald jewellery reportedly valued at more than $10 million, while Lady Gaga sported 45-carat emerald drop earrings and a sexy pendant.

Kate Bosworth has partnered with fellow actress Ambyr Childers to create a ‘Native American’ inspired jewellery line. Drawing on Childers’ heritage, the 22-piece collection features diamonds, pink opal, obsidian and lapis.

A new technology platform has been developed for designers to use when creating their own smart jewellery pieces. The technology features a small Bluetooth radio disc that can be placed inside a ring or necklace, and is said to allow jewellers to focus on design, rather than grapple with technology.
