Monthly Overview

Hate your old stock? Get rid of it now!

Old product ties up cash and makes jewellery stores look tired. With the end of financial year looming, avoid old-stock stress and start moving those slow-selling items.

Dead stock not only drains cash flow and wastes staff time but it also contributes to poor business performance. About 80 per cent of the product retailers buy is reported to not sell as quickly as they thought, so it makes sense that a planned process of controlling old stock will improve cash flow and ultimately sales.

Jeweller’s June issue looks at how to get rid of old stock and balance future ordering to stop stock waste and spark sales.

June Jeweller, which has now been mailed, also features our annual bridal jewellery report. This year’s article investigates the impact societal changes such as the push for marriage equality and an increased focus on gender equality is having on the engagement ring market.

Want to have a sales culture like Apple? This month’s issue explains how independent retailers can go about replicating the winning cultures of large retailers like Apple and Amazon.

There’s a whole lot more in Australia and New Zealand’s #1 jewellery industry magazine, including plenty of useful advice that could help to improve sales and profitability. See below for more details.
