Some cards from last year's Trollbeads campaign

Trollbeads fans calling for cards

Trollbeads is calling on the jewellery industry to help spread the word about its “Share a Christmas Card with a Stranger" promotion.
Participants get to send and receive cards from fellow Trollbeads aficionados from all over the globe and also get the chance to win a bead from the company’s Christmas collection. The promotion is designed to drive traffic to retail outlets and build brand loyalty among Trollbeads enthusiasts and its retail arm.

RJ Scanlon & Co managing director Stephen Brown, the Australian distributor for Trollbeads, said last year almost 3,000 people played along, sending more than 11,000 cards and 60 Trollbeads gifts were won.

“The philosophy behind Share a Christmas Card is for Troll friends to connect in a fun way to get to know – and be inspired by – other Troll friends from different parts of the world, and for Trollbeads to build stronger relationship with Trollbeads collectors,” he said.

The benefit for Troll friends is that every time they receive a card they will then get a ticket in the Trollbeads Christmas Lottery and have a chance to win one of the beads from the Christmas 2012 Collection.

“Each day of December at least one person will win a gift. They also receive a real Christmas card, not a virtual one, from someone from the other side of the world. It’s an opportunity for people who share the same passion for Trollbeads to establish new friends,” Brown said.

Registered users can go online to get up to 10 Troll Friends. That also allows other Troll users to send them a Christmas card.

Users are encouraged to visit Trollbeads retailers to collect their official Trollbeads Christmas cards.

Every time Trollbeads enthusiasts receive a Trollbeads Christmas Card, they register the sender’s Troll ID and automatically get a ticket in the lottery, said Brown.

Users can pre-register from November 5 and the event starts on November 19. Retailers can expect stocks of cards from November 19.
