Golden launch for Thomas Sabo

High-profile jewellery brand Thomas Sabo presented its latest sterling silver collections to a celebrity-filled audience in Sydney last week.

Around 100 of Australia’s fashion and lifestyle media joined a group of selected celebrity guests including singer-songwriter Samantha Jade, model Alice Burdeu and TV presenter Danny Clayton to view the brand’s new Glam and Soul and Rebel at Heart ranges.

L’Aqua Gold Room at Cockle Bay Wharf was a fitting venue for the launch – the Glam and Soul women’s collection includes a special edition line called Golden Silver. The range, which is a completely new design signature for the brand, features 925 sterling silver plated pieces either in 18-carat yellow or rose gold.

Said to be inspired by the designs and colours of Moorish culture, the Golden Silver range uses warm-coloured elements incorporated into gold-plated jewellery. Drop-shaped arabesques, bright turquoise and golden yellow suns heralding from the folk tales One Thousand and One Nights are used in the new pieces.

The presentation of a new campaign featuring British model and style icon Poppy Delevingne also took place during the afternoon.

As previously reported by Jeweller, Delevingne is the new brand ambassador for the range and is said to capture the spirit of the Golden Silver line with her youthful twist and seductive charm.

“With the many new combination options using silver, rose gold and yellow gold, you can find the right accessory for every occasion, every style and every personality,” Delevingne said of the collection.

In a first for the jewellery brand, a men’s collection Rebel at Heart was presented as a stand-along collection.

Created for the “rebellious gentleman”, the range uses blackened silver and also includes a number of unisex items.

German violinist David Garret is the official face of the range and is reportedly a role model for men’s jewellery as he “demonstrates the courage to experiment with exceptional styles and accessories”.

The new collections will be available in March 2013.
