This two-piece set was found in Mogok, Burma where imperial topaz is extremely rare. The faceted topaz pictured centre and on the right has been cut from the base of the gemstone on the left.
Due to the shape of the original piece, the loss through cutting was minimal. While only one gemstone was cut, the piece will yield at least two more gemstones or can be left uncut.
