Organised by Fair Events, the Pop-up Trade Days will be hosted in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland in February 2017.
In previous years, the one-day buying events were typically held around October; however, they have been rescheduled in an effort to provide retailers with the chance to restock, network and view products and services after the Christmas period.
Fair Events managing director Gary Fitz-Roy said the Trade Days were aimed at retailers who might find it difficult to travel to the larger jewellery fairs in Sydney and Brisbane.
“The Trade Days format will be similar to those in previous years; no stand builds like at the Brisbane and Sydney fairs but a simple format focused on networking and top-up selling,” Fitz-Roy added.
He also noted that the Auckland location was introduced after receiving feedback that the New Zealand market needed a “cost-effective sales opportunity”.
While Fitz-Roy said purchasing product was the focus of the Trade Days, he was also investigating how to “compliment” the events with “value-added extras” that may include, but were not limited to, educational sessions.
Each Trade Day runs from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
The Australian Jewellery Fair, also organised by Fair Events, will take place after the Trade Days in Brisbane from February 26 to 27, 2017.
