Released in time for the Australian Jewellery Fair Melbourne, the new Candy by Georgini collection of enamel metal bangles is available in a variety of colours. The range features catchy sayings inscribed on the inside of each piece.
“The best way to predict the future is to invent it”, “Life is short, buy the shoes”, and “If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun”, are some examples of the sayings that were sourced online by the supplier’s managing director Gina Kougias.
Kougias told Jeweller that the new collection gave more breadth to the Sydney-based brand’s offering, which specialises in sterling silver jewellery set with cubic zirconia.
“Australia has a small population and consequently a limited market so we’re always looking for ways to increase our offering and expand our client base,” Kougias said.
She added that launching the fashionable range at the jewellery fair was perfect timing as it also provided an opportunity to target upmarket gift store retailers who would be visiting the event as a result of the co-location with the Reed Gift Fair.
Kougias had received a positive response from visitors and was already planning to expand the line, which could possibly include pendants and a children’s range.
She also said she had her heart set on using famous quotes from 1930s Hollywood movie star Mae West for the bangle inscriptions.
The Candy collection is available in two width sizes and, at this point, will only be supplied in Australia.
As previously reported by Jeweller, Georgini recently gained several new distribution deals in South Africa. It also has stockists in New Zealand and the UK.
