This rough macle diamond was mined at the Argyle diamond mine in East Kimberley, Western Australia. Originally an octahedron shape, time and pressure resulted in the diamond naturally forming into a triangular shape.
Macle is a French term for ‘twin crystal’ – where two formations of a diamond combine into one.
A similar 1.25-carat macle rough was also sourced by Kimberley Rough Diamonds from the same mine.
