Brisbane fair a sell-out
Posted January 18, 2010 |
The JAA Australian Jewellery Fair Brisbane has experienced a total sell-out of exhibitor space and a 21 per cent increase of first-time exhibitors.
Scheduled for March 13-14 this year, stands sold-out by late 2009.
According to organisers, the popularity of the fair is largely attributed to its positioning on the retail calendar.
"The fair provides buyers with the opportunity to strategically plan their purchasing around two critical periods a year – pre and post Christmas," said Expertise Events managing director Gary Fitz-Roy. "This is reflected by the number of major brands locking-in new product launches to be revealed at the fair for the post Christmas restock."
In addition, several leading brands are using the Brisbane show as a key platform to re-show and reinforce collections that they launched last year at the JAA International Jewellery Fair Sydney.
"We are delighted that the JAA Australian Jewellery Fair has truly come into its own in 2010," Fitz-Roy said. "The relaxed weekend environment combined with the fantastic new talent, product ranges and exhibitors makes this a fantastic opportunity to restock for the year ahead."
With a focus on delivering insights into future industry trends, the fair will this year present a showcase of new jewellery design talent – with the major works of final year Jewellery Design students from the Queensland School of Art at Griffith University and the South Bank Institute of TAFE on display throughout the event.
"This provides students with the invaluable opportunity to showcase their talent to retailers in the industry," Fitz-Roy said. "They are also able to talk to visitors about their pieces and design inspiration during the course of the fair."
Further to this, the new Career Links feature will also be debuted at the Brisbane fair. It is designed to deliver resources for exploring career opportunities within the trade for new and established members.
Exhibitors this year focus on point-of-sale and merchandising solutions for retailers and will be demonstrating these from their stands.
The Perk coffee lounge and the Connect networking lounge will allow buyers and exhibitors the opportunity to sit down with industry association representatives, exhibitors and other colleagues to discuss business opportunities.
The JAA Australian Jewellery Fair Brisbane will be held at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre, South Bank from March 13-14, 2010.
