Agatha Paris charms with new concept

A sliding charm and bracelet concept from French brand Agatha Paris has given a new twist to the traditional keepsake items.

The Agat’you range features a clever design that incorporates leather or silicone bands on which charms, made from stainless steel, gold-plated stainless steel and a variety of other materials, are slid onto a band and locked in place when the bracelet is buckled.

Director Mitchell Grant told Jeweller at the Sydney fair that since being released in April this year, the charm and bracelet range now accounted for 20 per cent of the company’s global sales.

He added that the bracelets were designed to ultimately hold a combination of three charms but looked great with more or fewer pieces. Currently, the range comprises around 300 charm and bracelet combinations.

“Our scotty dog design, which is our Agatha Paris logo, is still one of our most popular designs among consumers.” Currently, the brand is stocked in Australia and New Zealand at a small number of stores but Grant said he hoped to expand the number of stockists.

Stockists are able to use the Agat’you booklet that accompanies the products as an added marketing tool. Inside the booklet, stickers of the charms can be placed on replica bracelets to encourage consumers to experiment with, and purchase, additional product.

Grant stated that the range had proved so popular that some retailers had recouped their initial investment in the full kit in the first two months.
