The current Coronation crown is made of solid gold and adorned with 345 aquamarines, 37 white topaz, 27 tourmalines, 12 rubies, seven amethysts, six sapphires, garnet, spinel amongst the most prominent stones. Queen Elizabeth often joked about how heavy it was. Source: Cecil Beaton. © V&A Museum
