Over the past three decades, consumers have increasingly turned to the Internet for shopping. The launch of eBay and Amazon in 1995, PayPal in 1998 and Apple Pay in 2014 were landmark moments.


Of the 600 jewellery business that do not have a website, 280 use Facebook as their primary digital presence and contact point. At least 13 per cent of all jewellery business (265 stores) have no digital presence whatsoever.
