Ball watches to hit Australia

America’s luxury Ball Watch brand is poised to launch in Australia and the company has picked Avstev Group as its distributor.
The watches will debut in Australia close to Christmas. Both standard models and limited edition models, in precious metals such as platinum, will be available to stockists.
The Ball Watch company was established by jeweller and horologist Webster Clay Ball in 1891. The brand was first created to bring a uniform system of timekeeping to the American railroad system but gradually developed into a designer consumer product.
In 2001, Ball Watch launched the world’s first micro-gas light mechanical watch, using Swiss laser technology. Without requiring any kind of light source exposure, these gas lights can glow continuously for up to 25 years and the brand claims their brightness is 100 times stronger than that which can be achieved using luminous paint. Ball watches still use this technology.
Avstev is Australia’s largest privately owned distributor and already holds distribution rights for Raymond Weil, Frederique Constant, Girard-Perregaux and TechnoMarine in this country.
