Entries open soon for IGI’s Expressions Awards

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is inviting the world’s most creative jewellery designers to enter their free online competition, the 2022 IGI Expressions Awards.

This year’s theme is ‘renewal’ and the judges will be looking for interpretations of rejuvenation through an original piece of jewellery.

IGI CEO Roland Lorie said the aim of the competition was to celebrate the immense talent in the wider international industry.

“We are pleased to offer the IGI Expressions Awards again, inviting jewellery enthusiasts around the world to participate and be recognised as IGI continues to encourage and support creative talent,” he said.

Each category features separate sub-categories to accommodate different submission preferences such as hand-drawn sketch, computer assisted design (CAD) file or iPad file.

Approximately 40-50 designs will become competition finalists, from which nine champions will be selected, one in each submission segment, for each of the three categories.

The 2021 IGI Expressions Awards attracted more than 500 entries from 21 countries.

Entries may be submitted from 31 October through 30 November via the IGI website.

The IGI has operated for more than 40 years with 20 laboratories in major diamond and jewellery centres across the globe as well as a further 14 education facilities.
