Australian jewellery supplier supports a worthy cause

Australian fancy colour diamond jewellery supplier Nina’s Jewellery has announced a new partnership with White Ribbon Australia.

Formed in 1991, the White Ribbon Campaign raises awareness around violence against women and children globally.

Nina’s Jewellery is based in Western Australia and specialises in fancy colour diamond jewellery. The company will donate diamond jewellery to help White Ribbon Australia raise funds.

General manager of marketing and sales Krysta Ryan said that in addition to this donation, all staff, stores, websites, and advertising will feature White Ribbon Australia messaging from November.

“It benefits us all to be aware of an issue that impacts not just ourselves, but our customers, our staff, our partners, our sisters and daughters, every day,” she told Jeweller.

“Working with White Ribbon Australia allows us to lend our platforms and voice to this mission, train our team in being allies to the cause, and better support any who may be experiencing these problems in our own way.”

Earlier this month, the Australian Government announced a $4.7 billion plan over the next five years to address what it described as a ‘national crisis’ of family and gender-based violence.

An estimated 2.7 million Australians aged 18 and over have experienced abuse by an adult before the age of 15, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. General manager of product and finance Shivangi Modi said that with gender-based violence impacting one in three women, the first step to addressing the issue was to acknowledge it.

“It is an intention we feel aligns with so many in the industry - an industry whose main consumer is female,” she said.

“So much passion and joy comes from what we do, and with that comes tremendous positivity - positivity that can be used to further this vital conversation.”

Nina’s Jewellery will also be hosting a webinar providing information about dealing with abuse in the workplace. Anyone interested is invited to attend. For more details, contact wholesale@ninas.co
