Catherine Pevy-Trewartha has been appointed chairman while the former chairman Terry Keoghan has resigned following many years of service.

Joining Pevy-Trewartha is Adrian Turner, the owner of Fifth Avenue Diamond Experts in Auckland, New Zealand.

The well-known Pevy-Trewartha - who owns My Jewellery Shop on the Gold Coast - brings decades of experience across jewellery retail, buying, and governance and has been a Showcase member for almost 24 years. She has been a Showcase director for seven years.

The Showcase media statement described Pevy-Trewartha as “a forward-thinking and collaborative leader, who has long been an advocate for innovation, systems, and modern governance. She is a strong supporter of the Showcase NextGen program and is deeply committed to strengthening engagement across the Showcase community”.

Turner has 38 years of industry experience and professional qualifications include credentials with the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA), the JWNZ Jewellery Diploma with Honours, and a National Certificate in Retail and Gemmology.

Pevy-Trewartha described her new role as chair as a privilege at a time when the jewellery industry is evolving rapidly.

“Showcase has a strong foundation built on collaboration and trust, and I bring real energy and commitment to building on that with purpose and clear direction. My focus is on supporting our members and suppliers in a way that is transparent, forward-thinking, and firmly focused on the future of the Group,” she explained.

Pevy-Trewartha’s major focus will be guiding the Showcase through a period of strategic renewal. The key priorities include strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing member value, supporting sustainable supplier partnerships, and “ensuring Showcase remains relevant and progressive in an increasingly competitive industry”.

On the other hand, Turner is said to bring in-depth technical expertise, retail insight, and a strong passion for collaboration.

His focus includes a vision for strengthening engagement across New Zealand, bringing members together, and fostering closer relationships to enhance the strength of Showcase Jewellers Group.

Keoghan’s tenure as chair included the challenges of the COVID-19 period. He played a significant role through a major structural and operational change, including the transition to its current shareholder-owned model.

The media statements added: “Showcase Jewellers Group thanks Mr Keoghan for his leadership, vision, commitment, and contribution to the Group and its members, and wishes him well for the future.”

The 2025 Buying Group Report records Showcase as having 144 members representing 174 stores across Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu.
