TNK Jewellery began mining for sapphires in 1989 at the gemstone fields in Central Queensland and subsequently started manufacturing jewellery.

The company also purchases various types of gemstones from Thailand for retail and manufacturing of jewellery, and specialises in Australian opal from various sources.
