Kahn’s presentation “Tic Toc Time to Shop” is said to feature a range of ideas to increase turnover in the current retail environment.
According to Nationwide managing director Colin Pocklington, Kahn is the only Australian member of the Ebeltoft Group – an international assembly that brings together the most sought after retail consultants. The group meets twice a year to discuss new ways to bring customer experience to life.
“Hilary is one of the most experienced retail trainers in Australia and has worked with numerous retailers - large and small,” Pocklington said.
“We have had Hilary visit several of our member's stores as part of her research into our industry so that she can put forward specific merchandising recommendations about displaying merchandise and ticketing etc.”
As previously reported by Jeweller, the other keynote speaker for the conference will be David Geller, an expert on pricing and selling jewellery repairs and custom designs.
Geller, who is based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a regular speaker at all major US jewellery shows and his appearance at the Nationwide conference has been described as a “major coup”. He is a 14th-generation jeweller and creator of the famous Blue Book for repair prices.
In his first session at the conference, Geller will be presenting the buying group’s members with numerous tips on how to increase workshop profitability.
The second presentation “Inventory Can Make You Money or Kill You (or How to not be trampled to death by inventory and its cash eating brother)” will concentrate on ways to improve stock turns and sales in store.
The conference will be held from Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 May.
