The facility, due to open next month, will be located in Perth and is said to offer a comprehensive precious metals service, including CAD/CAM and casting.
Palloys’ managing director Andrew Cochineas explained the expansion was due to increased demand through 2013, adding that the new office would allow it to increase manufacturing capabilities in Western Australia.
“With small businesses under pressure to capitalise on time and opportunities, we want to ensure the Palloys Group does all it can to assist Australian jewellers,” Cochineas said.
“We hope that in establishing a physical presence in Western Australia, the home of the Australian gold mining industry, we can offer a personalised local service to the manufacturing jewellery market encompassing all precious metal opportunities.”
JAA board member and jewellery trade lecturer at TAFE, Peter Keep, has been appointed Palloys group account executive for the region, while Steven Anderson will be group office manager.
The facility will be shared with precious metal and gold bullion dealer ABC Bullion. While Palloys and ABC Bullion have been working together since 2007, this is the first time they have shared an office.
Palloys will hold an official launch for the new facility on Thursday 6 February.
Palloys Group, which incorporates Palloys, Regentco, AGS-PJW and Golden Age, offers a comprehensive precious metals service, including custom design manufacturing, semi-finished and finished wedding rings and bangles, findings, bullion trading, plating products and refining.
