Nationwide Jewellers has confirmed US-based social media marketing expert Crystal Vilkaitis will be the keynote speaker at the buying group’s annual conference, scheduled for June 2020.

Her upcoming presentation, ‘How retailers are driving traffic, sales and profits with social media’, will include case studies highlighting effective retail promotions and campaigns.

Vilkaitis – who specialises in marketing for independent retailers – will also conduct an advanced workshop on using Facebook and Instagram advertising, and be available for individual consultations.

Colin Pocklington, managing director Natonwide Jewellers, said, “The social media landscape is always changing, and Crystal is not only on top of current issues, but has insights into changes on the horizon from the various platforms.”

The Nationwide conference’s overall theme is ‘Digital marketing – essential for retail success in the 2020s’. The four-day event will be held at the Le Meridien Resort & Spa in Noumea, New Caledonia and is scheduled to include more than 10 workshop sessions covering business planning and inventory management, in addition to digital marketing and social media.

“Our conference program will be tailored towards providing the information and retailing support needed to continue implementing the business growth strategies that we outlined for members,” Pocklington explained, adding that the New Caledonia venue was chosen in order to give jewellers a “welcome break” from the tough retail conditions of the past year.
