Australian pink diamonds highlight Opulence Collection

Aurom, a new company from Kunming Diamonds, has been named the premier global partner and distributor of the Royal Canadian Mint’s Opulence Collection.

Aurom is based in Hong Kong and was launched earlier this year with a focus on the rarest and most exclusive coin collections.

“The closure of the mine in 2020 sparked a frenzy that is unlikely to subside anytime soon – if anything, it will only continue to drive demand from those wanting to own a valuable piece of natural history.”

Executive director Harsh Maheshwari said the collection embodies rarity.

“Not only are they unforgettable masterpieces, but they are also encrusted with the rarest fancy vivid and fancy intense pink diamonds from the now-closed Argyle mine in Western Australia. In other words, they truly redefine rare,” he explained.

“The legacy of the Argyle mine is almost certainly unlike anything else we will ever witness again in our lifetimes. Since 2016, the prices of Argyle pink diamonds have shot up, even during difficult economic and political times."

Maheshwari added: "The closure of the mine in 2020 sparked a frenzy that is unlikely to subside anytime soon – if anything, it will only continue to drive demand from those wanting to own a valuable piece of natural history.”

The pink diamond coins from the Opulence Collection, created in collaboration with Crossworks Manufacturing and designed by artist Simon Ng, are the first of their kind to be produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
