She has collaborated with a Turkish manufacturer to produce the range of fashion-focused, oversized sterling silver-plated necklaces.
“I wanted to create statement jewellery that would empower women and accentuate the feminine spirit,” Trunfio told Jeweller. “I also want to teach women how to create their own positive affirmations, so that when they put on the jewellery, they can voice [these positive affirmations] in front of their mirrors.”
The inspiration for Trunfio’s jewellery came from the ancient traditions of historic rulers, goddesses and queens, she said.
Trunfio is one of Australia’s most high-profile models and a Vogue and Elle cover-girl. Last week she led the fashion parade at the relaunch of David Jones’ flagship store on Melbourne’s Bourke Street. The New York-based model is also co-host of America’s Make Me a Supermodel.
“During my time as a model, I have travelled to many countries and explored the different dynamics of how women express themselves in their own cultures and today’s world,” she told The Age last week.
Trunfio’s jewellery line debuted in New York and is currently only available in the US or online.
