Jeweller published a two-part report in April detailing Trump’s long-running association with branded watches. A surprising variety of Trump-inspired watches is available online, some dating back to 1984.
More importantly, Trump personally promoted a new company selling branded watches during last year’s US Presidential Election.
In recent weeks, a customer from Rhode Island has expressed dismay after purchasing a pink ‘Inauguration First Lady’ model from Trump Watches for $USD640.
The watch was purchased by Tim Petit as a gift for his wife; however, when it arrived, the couple was frustrated to discover an unexpected typo on the face.

The ‘T’ was missing, meaning the couple had instead received a ‘Rump Watch’. Petit told NBC10 that he purchased the product after hearing an advert on the radio.
“With the president’s voice hawking the watches. I was curious, so I went on to the website,” he said.
“I just thought it was really nice. It was beautiful. And I knew it would be something that she’d like. I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through.”
Melanie Petit also expressed her frustration, asking: “How could they process this and go through something without checking their work?”
As previously reported, Trump Watches sells these products under a license agreement.
NBC10 reported that the company has since contacted the unhappy couple, offering to immediately replace the watch and provide a $USD800 voucher to purchase an additional watch.
