Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong: The Savvy Buyers' Paradise

The wait is nearly over for the next edition of Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong, one of the world’s most important jewellery industry trade shows.

» Jewellery Buyers:
8 Ways to Prep Your Trip!

1. Analyse Market and Store Trends: Review industry reports and analytics to spot rising designs and gemstone demands. Cross-check against your inventory to target buys that fill gaps.

2. Build Pre-Event Connections: Research exhibitors and connect via LinkedIn or trade groups. Building rapport as early as possible makes the buying process smoother.

3. Compile Customer Demands List: List top customer requests, then scan exhibitors online. This pinpoints must-see exhibitors and sharpens your buying focus.

4. Master Market Rates: Research current prices for precious metals, diamonds, and gemstones. Set negotiation benchmarks to ensure fair deals.

5. Leverage Tech Tools: Use digital tools to track your trip and ensure that you remain in line with your budget and on top of your needs.

6. Refine Assessment Skills: Practise evaluating samples in your store, focusing on cut, clarity and colour. This encourages quick, confident decisions amid the pressure of the show floor.

7. Plan Swift Follow-Ups: You can capitalise on face-to-face momentum before it fades.

8. Combat Decision Fatigue: Schedule breaks and focus techniques to stay sharp. This ensures sound judgment through long, intense days.

Buyer pre-registration is open for Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) until 7 September. The event is organised by Informa Markets and will begin on 15 September, offering business-to-business (B2B) sourcing opportunities across two locations for one week.

From 15-19 September, the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) will be the location for three co-located fairs, each separated by a focus on precious materials. These are JGW: Gemstones [Halls 3, 6, 8 and 10], JGW: Diamonds and Fine Gems [Halls 5, 7, 9 and 11] and JGW: Pearls+ [Halls 1 and 2].

From 17-21 September, three shows dedicated to finished jewellery, packaging solutions, tools and equipment and industry-related technologies will feature at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). These are JGW: Hong Kong [Hall 1], JGW: International [Halls 3 and 5], and JGW: Fine Design [Grand Hall].

As an added bonus, SEASONS | Autumn Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair will be held from 17-21 September [Halls 5BC] of the HKCEC.

This event showcases the fashion jewellery and accessories sector, featuring MODE by SEASONS Ι Autumn, powered by Fashion by Informa, and the Tomorrow Aisle, supported by the Pro-Act Training and Development Centre and the Youth College of Hong Kong, along with first-time participant the Jewellery Institute of Taiwan.

These carefully curated sections will offer buyers access to the latest collections from exhibitors and emerging design talent, providing valuable insights into Spring/Summer 2026 trends and beyond.

In 1983, Headway Trade Fairs launched the Hong Kong Jewellery and Watch Fair in a hotel in Tsim Shai Tsui. The first-ever edition of the show had 110 exhibitions and drew approximately 700 visitors.

More than 40 years later, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong hosts more than 3,400 exhibitors across two venues each year. A further 50,000 visitors participate in the seven-day jewellery industry spectacular, travelling from more than 140 countries worldwide.

Informa Markets director of jewellery fairs, Celine Lau, said that with the jewellery industry continuing to grapple with market headwinds, the value of establishing new relationships at events such as this was invaluable.

“JGW delivers an experience that simply can’t be found anywhere else,” Lau said.

“From show floor insights and immersive exhibits to high-profile networking opportunities and truly global gatherings – we’re creating unforgettable moments that showcase the possibilities in the jewellery and gemstone world.”

“This sourcing event comes at the perfect time, providing a platform where innovation, insight and opportunity intersect. These in-person interactions strengthen partnerships, provide real-time market intelligence and offer a range of resources that could help buyers make informed decisions in today’s complex business environment.”

AWE presents vibrant marketplaces showcasing loose diamonds, colour gemstones, pearls and other precious materials. The Fine Gem Pavilion attracts discerning buyers, including luxury brands, designers, and high-net-worth collectors.

These buyers share a common goal: seeking dazzling diamonds and glamorous gemstones, ranging from highly coveted fancy colour diamonds to rubies, emeralds, sapphires, Paraíba tourmalines, aquamarines, opals, and pearls, among others.

Over the past 18 months, a special jewellery showcase – the Orient Odyssey 2.0 – has commanded considerable attention. A virtual tour of the exhibition, hosted by a Chinese content creator, garnered more than 420,000 viewers.

For finished jewellery buyers, the HKCEC section serves as JGW’s centrepiece. Within the Grand Hall, JGW: Fine Design presents high-jewellery pieces often set with rare gemstones.

The CORE Pavilion at JGW: Hong Kong celebrates the city’s world-class jewellery manufacturers. At the same time, it showcases top-tier jewellery creators who emphasise creative expression and individuality – often incorporating unconventional materials, shapes, and concepts in line with, and in some cases, ahead of industry trends.

Visitors will also discover specialised areas including the Fei Cui Gallery, Antique and Vintage Jewellery, Designer Arena and International Fine Jewellery.

Carefully arranged trade association pavilions and country and region-specific sections organise exhibits by product type and origin, enabling buyers to navigate the exhibition seamlessly and discover their desired products and services with ease.

Glorious Gold

The Gold Jewellery Pavilion features more than 40 exhibitors from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Malaysia, presenting an opportunity for buyers to discover innovative new trends and technological advancements in gold jewellery manufacturing.

Among the highlights is the World Gold Council Pavilion, making its debut appearance at JGW. Beyond this section, gold jewellery exhibitors are positioned throughout the exhibition, offering valuable opportunities for buyers to explore.

Precious Metals & Emerging Technology

Organised by the Informa Markets’ Jewellery and Gem Knowledge Community, this special exhibition is located at Stand 3M260 of the HKCEC. It is dedicated to gold, platinum, silver and other precious metals used in fine jewellery manufacturing.

The exhibition is supported by two industry partners: The World Gold Council and Platinum Guild International. The exhibition showcases diverse metal applications and demonstrates how state-of-the-art technologies enable jewellery makers to explore cost-effective production alternatives while maintaining a competitive market position.

The launch of this special showcase is particularly timely given the record-high price of gold!

Sustainability Awards 2025

The Sustainability Awards 2025, hosted by Jewellery World Awards, recognise companies that actively promote environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance excellence, among other admirable qualities.

The Awards Presentation Ceremony is complemented by regular panel discussions featuring jewellery industry trailblazers, offering buyers an opportunity to learn more about these subjects in greater detail.

The Sustainability Awards program was launched in 2024.

Planning For The Future

JGW hosts many landmark industry gatherings, including the ASEAN Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (AGJA) Conference – a first in Hong Kong.

This event represents a collaborative partnership between two of Asia’s most influential industry organisations: the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA), celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and AGJA, a trade group established by ASEAN’s jewellery community.

What Are You Waiting For?

Earlier this year, Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) was hosted by Informa Markets from 19 to 22 June at the HKCEC and attracted more than 24,000 buyers from 87 countries. The jewellery fair featured nearly 1,200 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.

At the time, Lau noted that the 5 per cent increase in attendance was a positive indicator of market recovery and praised the jewellery industry for its strength in the face of adverse economic conditions.

“In today’s complex global economy, buyers are understandably cautious – comparing prices across markets and working closely with vendors to maximise budgets,” Lau explained.

“Nevertheless, we remain positive about the industry after witnessing the jewellery community’s energy and resilience at JGA.”

Now, it’s time for the next chapter. Buyer pre-registration is open for Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) until 7 September. The event is organised by Informa Markets and will take place from 15 September to 21 September.
