The ring features a 6.95-carat fancy vivid purplish-pink diamond, set between triangular diamonds. It will headline the 10 November sale, Geneva Jewels Auction: V. The auction also contains a collection from the Vanderbilt family, as well as pieces from designers such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Bulgari, and Graff.
Among the other notable items is a ring featuring an 18-carat Kashmir sapphire with diamond shoulders, which is expected to fetch more than $AUD4.3 million.
The auction house will showcase items from the sale in New York, Singapore, Taipei, and London before the event in Geneva.
• A Bulgari ring featuring a dazzling pink diamond was the headline of a recent auction in Italy, commanding an impressive return.
The ring featured a 3.18-carat fancy intense pink diamond and was sold at Italy’s Aste Bolaffi auction house for €2.3 million ($AUD4.09 million). The diamond is a cut-cornered rectangular stone and is accompanied in the ring by 64 brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds, weighing 1.93 carats.
The ring was sold at the Fine Jewels sale in Turin on 8 October, comfortably surpassing its pre-sale estimate and is reportedly the most expensive item ever sold by the auction house.
