Retail Edge launched the Business Excellence Awards at last year’s International Jewellery Fair in Sydney, celebrating the accomplishments of jewellery retailers. This year’s awards are being hosted online.
Every member of Retail Edge’s Business Coaching program is entered into the award. The finalists are assessed against rigorous financial and operational benchmarks built into each category's criteria.
There are five awards up for grabs:
Best Newcomer: For businesses that joined Retail Edge within the past 12 months and have made significant, measurable changes to their operations, including financial analysis and resolving key issues around stock and staffing.
Finalists: Yarrawonga Showcase Jewellers & Showcase Jewellers Te Awamutu
Transformation: For businesses with at least one year at Retail Edge that have reviewed their financials, set a budget, and made clear, measurable progress toward becoming a more sustainable business.
Finalists: Jade Jewellers, Macchia Jewellers, and & Matthews Jewellers
Sales Growth: Recognising the largest sustainable, like-for-like sales growth percentage versus the prior year, on a full-year comparison basis.
Finalists: Matthews Jewellers, Claudia Jewellers, & Diamonds Plus
Most Improved: Assessed on sales dollar growth, unit growth versus last year, and improvement in gross profit dollars and EBIT.
Finalists: Villani Jewellers, Springfield Jewellers, & Matthews Jewellers
Store of the Year: The top honour, assessing overall sales and profit performance alongside business structure changes, marketing effectiveness, staff organisation and achievement of set goals.
Finalists: Jade Jewellers, Matthews Jewellers, & Robert Cliff Master Jewellers
Winners will be announced on 19 August.
