Not only has Bolton Gems wowed visitors with a Maserati parked beside
its stand at the Sydney Jewellery Fair, but a new range of Australian
Argyle Chocolate Diamonds has piqued the interest of many fair visitors.
Bolton Gems general manager Jaclyn Shoenmaker said the supplier had all but sold out of the Eternity Diamond brand chocolate coloured fancy diamonds that it brought to the Sydney trade fair, such had been the response from the industry.
“It’s been amazing,” she told Jeweller. “The market is screaming for fancy coloured diamonds right now and this new colour is doing extremely well.”
According to Shoenmaker, the distribution of Arygle Diamonds has been a long time coming and it was Brett Bolton’s father who initially wanted to distribute the brand.
Shoenmaker suggested that Australian Argyle Diamonds as a brand instilled confidence in consumers who may be concerned about the origins of some gemstones. Furthermore, she said that branded diamonds were becoming increasingly popular and provided retailers with the additional benefit of story telling at the point of sale.
The Maserati promotion is separate to the chocolate diamond marketing campaign, however, retailers who make a purchase on any product more than $100 during the three days of the jewellery fair will go into the draw to win a full day driving the Maserati, “but you have give it back!”, Shoenmaker laughed.
