Prizes galore at Sydney jewellery fair

In addition to gaining a first-hand account of the hottest trends, latest products and special deals, Sydney jewellery fair attendees could also take home a host of prizes.

Numerous exhibitors have confirmed to Jeweller that they will be offering special competitions and promotions at the JAA International Jewellery Fair.

Below is a brief round up of some of the contests being conducted over the three-day trade show and how visitors can get involved.

Julie Sandlau is holding a contest that encourages retailers to take a closer look at the Danish brand’s collections. The “Discover and Win” competition will involve asking visitors to select and take a photo of themselves with their favourite jewellery piece, which will then go into a draw. A winner will be announced each day of the fair and they will take home their chosen piece.

New Zealand-based Kagi will feature a roulette wheel at its stand, where visitors will be given the chance to “Spin & Win”. A number of prizes are on offer, including a luxury weekend getaway valued at $1,200.

Palloys Group will be giving away an iPad. To be in with a winning chance, visitors will need to scan their entry pass at the CAD/CAM service provider’s stand and sign up to its recently launched My Dream Ring app. The group is also offering a free 3D print and cast for new customers.

One lucky audience member present during Hayagriva Software’s demonstrations (2:00pm on Sunday and Monday, 11:00am Tuesday) of the Com-Sur security technology will receive a software license valued at US$2,500 (AU$2,700). The technology is said to enable jewellers to “review hours of footage within minutes”.

Meanwhile, each buyer that places an order with Gerrim International with a value of at least $1,000 will receive an entry into the fair’s Treasure Chest draw.

Graham Cohen Marketing is offering a “2 for 1” promotion. Those that purchase a pack of 72 Connoisseurs cleaning products will receive 72 free Connoisseurs Diamond Dazzle Stiks. The cleaning products might serve as a gift with purchase option or a customer thank you.

Not only is the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA) providing live demonstrations on gemstone identification at its stand, but it will also be giving away a range of vouchers for GAA courses.

The prizes on offer include a $1,000 course voucher, $500 course voucher and one voucher for an Introduction to Gems and Gemmology short course. To enter, visitors will need to visit the GAA stand and fill out an expressions of interest form. Winners will be announced on Tuesday.

Finally, Homage Personalised Jewellery is remaining tight-lipped, revealing only that jewellers with three or more stores will have to enquire about its special offers.

Above is just a small preview of the special offers and promotions being conducted by exhibitors during the fair, which will be held from Sunday 31 August until Tuesday 2 September at the Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island.

Opening hours are as follows:
Sunday 9:30am – 6:00pm
Monday 9:30am – 6:00pm
Tuesday 9:30am – 3:00pm
