Australian jewellery sales saw mixed results across product categories in June with the performance roundup to the end of the financial year influenced by impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and weather events, according to the latest Retail Edge Consultant’s market report.
Following a series of positive sales trends since the beginning of the year, May overall sales dollars dipped slightly by 2.8 per cent compared with the same month last year.
The first quarter of 2022 is in the books and heading through April, the latest Retail Edge report indicates that it continues to be a positive year from a market perspective, particularly when it comes to inventory average sale figures.
The Australian Jewellery Fair ran over the weekend and has been declared a success. The boutique-style event, which was sold out four weeks before opening, was promoted as “Kick Start 2022”.
Jewellery sales continue to gain good traction based on the latest Retail Edge report for 1 to 28 February, credited to a strong consumer buying attitude even after the Christmas and New Year sales season.
