Police allege the incident occurred on 17 February, when three masked male offenders armed with hammers and bats entered a store on High Street. The offenders assaulted the store owner, broke glass cabinets, and stole jewellery before fleeing in a Toyota Kluger, which was reported stolen several days earlier.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries to his head and arm. Police also allege the group targeted two other jewellery stores on the same day, in Narre Warren and in Altona North, but were unsuccessful.
As reported by local media, the three men, identified as an 18-year-old from Frankston, an 18-year-old from Carrum Downs, and a 19-year-old from Rosebud, face 48 charges.
These include armed robbery, assault, reckless conduct, endangering serious injury, attempted aggravated burglary, motor vehicle theft, and criminal damage.
