This year’s International Jewellery Fair in Sydney will have an overwhelming emphasis on education and business development, with organisers unveiling a gigantic line-up of guest speakers and presentations.

The Sydney Fair (22-24 August 2026) is just one week away, and Expertise Events has confirmed that 12 special presentations are scheduled to take place across the three days.

These presentations will cover an incredibly broad range of topics relevant to jewellery retailers, from maximising sales and protecting your business, the importance of emerging technology and digital tools, through to diamond and colour gemstone analysis.

Day One – Saturday, 22 August

11.00 am: Vikas Sodhani of Unbridaled will deliver a presentation on how AI tools can be applied to lift sales and streamline everyday business performance.

12.00 am: Ruth Benjamin-Thomas of the Australian Opal Association will provide a highly interactive and hands-on presentation outlining the critical steps, from modern classification standards to strategic year-round marketing, needed to build customer confidence and unlock the full potential of Australian opal.

1.00 pm: Alyssa Cameron and Mateo Patino of GemstoneX will present a practical guide to everything Colombian emeralds, including quality, treatments, origin and certification.

2.00 pm: John Papadimitriou of Safeguard Locksmiths will give retailers a simple framework to assess where they are today and identify opportunities to improve operational discipline, confidence, consistency and control. [Stage A]

2.00 pm: Lachlan Renshaw of Centrestone Jewellery Insurance will reveal what it takes to protect your jewellery business well beyond the point of sale. [Stage B]

3.00 pm: Ryan Abdullah and Isaac Schaider of CaratIQ will explain how jewellers can use AI and technology to increase sales and simplify operations. [Stage A]

3.00 pm: Stephen Moignard of Australian Jade will help attendees understand what Australian jade is, how it formed over billions of years, and what distinguishes it from other jade sources around the world. [Stage B]

Day Two – Sunday, 23 August

11.00 am: Christina Loccisano of Searay will showcase a live demonstration of diamond detection tools and explain how jewellery retailers can make trust their biggest competitive advantage.

12.00 am: Bill Sechos and Jan Vlazny of the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA) will host an insightful session exploring some of the jewellery industry’s most important topics, including natural and lab-created diamonds and how to distinguish between natural, treated and synthetic materials.

1.00 pm: James Stow of Jewelutions will discuss how outsourced manufacturing and integrated software are transforming bespoke jewellery.

2.00 pm: In a keynote presentation, generational consultant Scott Millar explores the trends shaping the next generation of consumers and what they mean for brands.

“The next generation is growing up fast. The oldest members of Generation Z are now entering their late 20s and early 30s, while Generation Alpha is beginning to finish high school,” Millar told Jeweller.

“Together, they represent the future customers who will be celebrating engagements, weddings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and countless other moments that jewellery retailers have always been part of.

“This session will challenge some of the common misconceptions about younger consumers, highlight the opportunities they present, and provide practical strategies that jewellery businesses can use to build trust, create memorable customer experiences and earn long-term loyalty.”

Day Three – Monday, 24 August

11.00 am: Mustafa Ali of Fog Bandit ANZ will highlight the real objective of security - preventing the loss from occurring in the first place.

• The International Jewellery Fair will be held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Sydney from 22-24 August 2026.
