Cerrone's designs regularly incorporate Tolkowsky Diamonds

Cerrone Jewellers goes Nationwide

High-end retailer Cerrone Jewellers has joined buying group Nationwide Jewellers.

The luxury retailer recently decided to join the Nationwide Jewellers buying group in order to work closely with its premium diamond brand, Tolkowsky Diamonds.

Cerrone’s owner, Nic Cerrone, said he would be looking to incorporate the Tolkowsky diamond range into some of his upcoming designs.

“I’ve been involved with Tolkowsky for years now and the partnership with Nationwide can only grow my business,” Cerrone told Jeweller. “We have a wide customer base so we need to be involved with businesses that can cater to all our clients.”

In addition to utilising Tolkowsky’s existing diamond cuts, Cerrone is excited about the new diamond cut which Tolkowsky’s renowned cutter, Gabi Tolkowsky, will reveal at an international launch in Antwerp this March.

“When he [Tolkowsky] first came to Australia he started to cut unusual shapes and created a different way of selling diamonds,” Cerrone said. “He opened the market to new ideas and branded diamonds are now all over the world.”

Cerrone added that partnerships with buying groups and popular branded diamonds like Tolkowsky enforces the identity of his business and gives retailers access to many added benefits.

“Because we’re continuing to grow we need to look at other business avenues,” Cerrone said. “Buying groups provide a certain strength in unity with wonderful benefits such as GAA courses.”

Nationwide director Barry Jackson was pleased to add the three-store retailer to the group and after a recent visit to the Leichhardt store he said the range and appearance of the Cerrone stores were impressive.

“Visiting the House of Cerrone was like stepping into another world,” Jackson said. “Customers visiting a Cerrone store would be impressed by the quality of stock, the elegant displays and general ambience.”

Cerrone said his relationship with Tolkowsky dates back over 20 years when he [Cerrone] bought his first collection released in Australia. He credits Tolkowsky with revitalising the branded diamond market and said Tolkowsky diamonds featured regularly in his jewellery collections.
