Make more money seminar for jewellers

Jewellers can learn how to improve sales and store traffic at a marketing seminar which coincides with March’s Brisbane Jewellery Fair.
The ‘Make More Money from Your Jewellery Store Marketing’ seminar is being presented by Jewellery Marketing Solutions (JMS) at the George Williams Hotel in Brisbane, March 25.

JMS’s Leanne Argyle said the event seeks to improve store sales and traffic through online and offline mediums. The four-hour workshop will cover in-store promotions, and techniques to successfully compete in the online world.

“The event will include expert presenters in the areas of web design and social media marketing,” Argyle said. “With over $13 billion spent annually online by Australian consumers many jewellers need a stronger online presence – but seeking specialist advice relative to jewellery can be difficult.”

The workshop will focus on ways stores can raise their online profile through websites and social media. Kerry Lunn from a Gold Coast design studio will discuss the importance of effective websites and Kerry Fitzgibbon of Social Media Plus One will outline the benefits and management of social media channels.

“Online sales are growing at nearly 15 per cent per annum,” Argyle said. “Over 20 per cent of internet searches are for local businesses yet many stores aren’t setting up their online presence in an effective way.”

Argyle lamented that a lot of retailers are hurting after losing their Pandora accounts and said as a result companies need to revisit their marketing plans and determine how to differ from competition.

In addition to herself, Tony Argyle and JMS’ Trudi Bartlett will be conducting a session on store re-invention and effective promotional campaigns.

“We will be assisting the jewellers who attend this workshop to set-up an effective point-of-difference and we’ll share a variety of promotional ideas that stores can use in the run up to Mother’s Day,” Argyle said. “Promotions coupled with the latest online and social media marketing strategies are a winning recipe for making money.”
