Pandora jewellery continues breast cancer support

Pandora has released a limited edition Pink Ribbon bracelet and charm set in commemoration of the eight years it has been supporting Australia’s National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The piece comprises a matte pink triple leather bracelet, coupled with a sterling silver heart-shaped lock and key charm. It is said to be “rich in symbolism”; pink being the signature colour for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Pink Ribbon icon, and the “key to my heart” lock and key charm representing friends and family members affected by breast cancer.

In keeping with tradition, 30 per cent of all sales on the item will be donated to the foundation. The bracelet and charm set will retail for $99 and will be available only while stocks last.

The jewellery brand has introduced one new addition to the Pink Ribbon range each year since 2005, helping to raise more than $2.5 million for the charity. Other pieces in the range include sterling silver pendants and charms.

While items in the Pink Ribbon collection are usually available for purchase on an ongoing basis, this year’s bracelet and charm set is a limited edition. Pandora public relations executive Nicole Stokes said that was due to the success of other limited edition pieces that the company has released recently in Australia and New Zealand.

In recognition of its ongoing support, Pandora was awarded the NBCF Patron’s Award for Corporate Commitment to the Cause in 2011, and also received a Pink Circle Patron’s Award in 2012. Pandora is an NBCF diamond partner.

The NBCF was established in 1994 and has since raised more than $97 million to fund more than 340 Australian-based research projects. Its goal is to eradicate death from breast cancer by 2030.
