Australian Jewellery Fair: New products, partnerships and opportunities

Anticipation for the 2024 Australian Jewellery Fair is building as exhibitors and visitors alike prepare for two busy days of trade at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Organiser Expertise Events recently confirmed that the 24-25 March show sold out weeks ago, with nearly 70 exhibitors on show with the theme ‘Beyond the Horizon’.

Visitors are encouraged to secure their free registration in advance. The AJF will be a gathering of new exhibitors and familiar faces, and Pulina Senavirathna of Tusk Gallery, which specialises in sapphires, will be among the crowd for the first time.

"As a new exhibitor at the Australian Jewellery Fair, we are thrilled to unveil our latest collection and connect with industry professionals,” Senavirathna said.

“It’s the perfect platform to showcase our innovative designs and forge valuable partnerships. We look forward to immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the AJF and sharing our passion with attendees."

Duraflex Group Australia managing director Phil Edwards said that the launch of new products and ranges was always a highlight for suppliers and retailers alike.

“We are looking forward to the upcoming jewellery trade fair and having the opportunity to connect with our valued retail partners,” he explained.

“We will offer exceptional trade fair specials and exciting new line extensions across all brands and categories, including Diamonds by DGA, Thomas SABO, and a diverse range of watch brands.”

Mark McAskill of Mark McAskill Jewellery shared this enthusiasm and said that events like the AJF were a vital opportunity to connect with local retailers.

“We are excited to be participating in the Gold Coast Australian Jewellery Fair. It is a great chance to see more of our Queensland-based clients in one place,” he said.

“We have fantastic new products in our Pink Caviar and Estelle Collection that we can’t wait to showcase to the market.”

The Australian Jewellery Fair won’t be all serious business — retailers and exhibitors will be offered food and beverages, with free meals and drinks sponsored by AV Diamonds. There will also be networking opportunities at Sunday night drinks.

Retail Edge Consultants is running a competition, with the winner taking home a business consultancy package valued at $5,000.

Fair visitors can try their hand at putt-putt golf in a light-hearted competition. Players can win prizes at the event, which is sponsored by Gerrim International. Gerri Maunder said mixing business and leisure was crucial at industry events.

"It provides a unique space for industry professionals to come together, unwind, and connect in a relaxed environment,” she said.

In preparation for the AJF, Jeweller has released a new Buying Guide featuring all the latest products and collections.

The AJF follows the Melbourne Jewellery Expo in early February. Following the fair on the Gold Coast, attention will turn to the International Jewellery Fair, scheduled for 17-19 August in Sydney.
