Security camera footage from the Melikgazi district in central Turkey shows a suspect, wearing a beanie and a surgical mask, using a stolen forklift to open a gold store’s shutters and break the windows.
Inside, the thief toppled a display cabinet, breaking the glass and scattering gold jewellery. Unable to move heavy safes, the suspect collected loose gold into a bag.
After the robbery, the suspect made a surprising exit – forgoing the typical getaway vehicle in favour of a ride on a donkey.
Following the incident, authorities launched an investigation, and prosecutors are reportedly preparing formal charges. A 26-year-old suspect was reportedly identified based on security camera footage.
