The jewellery retailer recorded a 2 per cent increase in revenue on a year-by-year comparison over the past financial year, reaching $654.7 million. Same-store sales improved by 3 per cent.
In the Canadian market, the company recorded a 7 per cent increase in sales, reaching $120.8 million in sales. It was a similarly positive story in New Zealand, where sales reached $92.22 million. Michael Hill CEO Jonathan Waecker attributed the performance to a strong second-half rebound.
“It was particularly encouraging to see same-store sales growth across all markets, significantly accelerating in Canada and New Zealand in the second half,” he said.
“While the operating environment remains dynamic, we’ve made good progress simplifying the group and sharpening our focus on Michael Hill and Bevilles. As a result, we’re entering fiscal 2027 with a clear strategy and confidence in the opportunities ahead.”
The jewellery retailer also confirmed it currently operates 281 stores across three markets – 157 in Australia, 81 in Canada, and 43 in New Zealand. Over the past year, the company closed eight stores – four in Australia, and two each in Canada and New Zealand.
