According to CIBJO, the book is designed “to assist all those involved in the purchase or sale of platinum, gold, palladium and silver jewellery, flatware and hollow-ware”.
The book, released this week, includes information that must be disclosed at the point of sale, and proper labeling.
Updates to the book include detailed information about fineness of precious metals.
The Precious Metals Book is part of CIBJO’s Blue Books series, which also includes guides for diamonds, colored gemstones and pearls
