In a statement, the company said that since Lacik’s appointment in 2019, the company has increased its revenue by 45 per cent and expanded its global workforce to 37,000 people. He is also credited with spearheading the ‘Phoenix strategy’, and Lacik described his time at Pandora as the ‘greatest experience’ of his working career.
“After more than 30 years leading global brands and seven years in charge of Pandora, the time has come for me to retire and spend my energy elsewhere,” Lacik said.
“Leading Pandora has been the greatest experience of my professional life, and I am extremely proud of the results we have achieved. We have established Pandora as a leading global consumer brand, and with her at the helm, I am convinced that the company will continue its rise.”
Berta de Pablos-Barbier, chief marketing officer and a member of Pandora’s executive leadership team since November 2024, will take over as CEO at the time of Lacik’s departure in March 2026. Before joining Pandora, she worked as an executive for several Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) brands.
Board chair Peter Ruzicka said that de Pablos-Barbier was an immediately impressive candidate based on her industry experience.
“Together with Alexander Lacik, we brought [de Pablos-Barbier] on board as a possible CEO candidate, and during our search she stood out as the clear number one,” he explained.
“She is a visionary leader with great analytical skills and a perfect mix of experience from top brands across luxury, fashion and fast-moving consumer goods. She is the right person to lead our continued growth, and I am pleased that we can maintain strategic focus and momentum during this smooth and orderly leadership transition.”
Earlier this year, Pandora appointed Beth Glancey as general manager of Australia and New Zealand, replacing the outgoing Travis Liddle.
