Sydney Fair: Duraflex announces new partnership with Connoisseurs

With the Sydney Fair now just weeks away, Duraflex Group Australia (DGA) has announced a new distribution partnership with a global jewellery care product company.

Connoisseurs is a market leader in jewellery and silver care, with its products available in more than 60 countries around the world. The company was founded in the US in the 1950s.

The brand is available at retailers around the world, including independent stores, chains, and departments, and DGA managing director Phil Edwards said the company’s international reputation was stellar.

“The new owners approached DGA to take over the distribution, as part of a global distribution network update,” Edwards tells Jeweller.

“The new owners are establishing a master distributor relationship, and DGA has long-standing relationships with a number of the other distributors in the network.

“The Connoisseurs brand is the top choice among consumers, jewellers and retailers - who recognise the products’ efficacy and worldwide brand positioning. Their commitment to product innovation and quality, plus the brand marketing, in addition, ensures their market-leading positioning is maintained.”

This partnership marks somewhat of a new direction for DGA. The company is well-known for its distribution of jewellery brands, such as THOMAS SABO, Ania Hae, and Diamonds by DGA, and watch brands, such as Daniel Wellington, DKNY Watches, and Luminox.

Given that Connoisseurs offers specialty products, it’s a significant change for the distributor; however, Edwards said that the brand was a natural fit with the company’s pre-existing portfolio.

“We see the Connoisseurs brand as the perfect addition to complement our portfolio, a natural extension of what we already offer,” Edwards explained.

“Given the market-leading brand positioning and excellent product offering, DGA are delighted to be the new distribution partner for Australia and New Zealand. Our retail partners will greatly benefit from the proactive support and service that DGA will bring to the Connoisseurs brand here in our market.

“Our partnership will be officially launched at the International Jewellery Fair. Visitors at the fair will discover the brand-new POS being unveiled for the brand, plus exclusive offers for our retail partners.”

The International Jewellery Fair will take place at Sydney’s International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, beginning on 23 August.
